Why do we carry two paints? We get asked all the time! The reason....we love to give our customers options with choosing a paint! We believe Fusion Mineral Paint and Autentico Paint are 2 of the best in the market!

Lyla's will get lots of furniture painters in store and everyone will give us a different paint, a different brush or different technique they use! There are NO wrong answers!

Autentico Vintage Furniture Paint

- Autentico Paint is a true chalk-type paint. It will stick to just about anything with minimal prep. It will have to be sealed with Autentico Furniture Wax or Varnish.

- When to use Autentico? If you don't want alot of prep and need to finish a piece quickly...Autentico is perfect! It can be sanded down to a buttery smooth finish. Autentico has lots of great color options and waxes to create a great distressed look.

Hi, I’m Meagan Wauters, and welcome to my store, Lylas. 

Lylas is a womens’ clothing, decor and accessories store located in the historic Downtown Plano Arts District.

After years of working in retail, I found that I really enjoyed the merchandising aspect of it. I started Lylas as an online boutique in 2014, and we opened in Plano in 2017.  I love interacting with our customers, and helping choose outfits to flatter women of every body type and age. Whether they’re getting dressed to ace an interview, celebrate an anniversary or just hang out with their kids at home, women deserve to feel their very best.

I’m originally from Louisiana, and moved to Texas in 2006. People ask me all the time where the name “Lylas” comes from. I combined the names of my grandmothers, Lydia and Laura, as a way for me to honor them after they’d passed. My Louisiana roots are important to me.

When you shop at Lylas, you won’t be caught wearing the same outfit as someone who shops a big-box store. Our clothing and accessories are hand-selected to be casual, comfortable and cute - at a budget friendly price. We carry items for all ages and all body types, from Small to 3X in select styles. 

We also offer items for the home, including furniture and decor. Our Fusion Mineral Paints and Autentico Vintage Furniture Chalk-esqe Paints are popular with customers looking to freshen up their cabinets or furniture.

Another thing we’re known for are our fun accessories with sarcastic, sassy sayings. These make memorable stocking stuffers or gifts for your stylist, kids’ teacher, best friend and more.

We cater to the men, too. Everything in our “Man Cave” section is handpicked by my husband, Jason. Guys love our beard oils and soaps, and candles in scents such as bacon and whiskey.

Although I love running my own store, I’m a wife and mother first. I married my husband, Jason, in 2012. We have two girls, Cambrie and Tinley, who were both conceived through in vitro fertilization, and have made our family complete. Owning a business while balancing dance class, doctors’ visits and daycare is hectic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Repeat shoppers say they love us for our friendly customer service. We are happy to meet our customers wherever they are comfortable – whether that’s in store, online, curbside service, or private appointment shopping.
