After working in the corporate retail world for 9 years, Meagan Wauters was ready for a change. As much as she loved helping customers with their fashion needs, the long holiday hours were not suitable for a new marriage. Meagan took a leap of faith and turned in her resignation. Meagan and Jason were married in November 2012. After a beautiful wedding and relaxing honeymoon, she enjoyed some time off from work and setting up their new home. The holidays were over and memories were made, 2013 brought new challenges and times of hope. The year was spent researching, shopping and taking entrepreneur classes.
Meagan was ready to launch her boutique, but needed a name. Creating a fun and catchy name proved to be difficult. The name Lyla's was finally inspired by her grandmothers, Lydia and Laura, combining the first 2 letters of their names to make Lyla! These ladies were the foundation of her family! They kept the family together through good and bad. Losing her grandparents at a young age, Meagan hopes to honor their legacy through Lyla's Clothing. Lyla's was launched in March 2014. Meagan did trunk shows to get the business off the ground. She kept up with the latest fashion trends by traveling to Dallas, Vegas and New York fashion markets.
In September of 2014, she was approached by friends to connect with a store in East Plano. After a successful run in East Plano, Meagan decided it was time to expand! Lyla's continues to look for new locations to keep our customer base growing!
As of November 2016, Lyla's Clothing had five locations in DFW Metroplex! See our complete list of locations and addresses here.
